World renowned Science Fiction author Arthur C. Clarke has passed on at age 90. He was truly a visionary whose works are known worldwide. The last 50 years of his life were spent in Sri Lanka. Also well know are Clarke’s 3 laws
-
- “When a distinguished but elderly scientist states that something is possible, he is almost certainly right. When he states that something is impossible, he is very probably wrong.”
- “The only way of discovering the limits of the possible is to venture a little way past them into the impossible.”
- “Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.”
Few authors so successfully walk that Asimovian balance of great Science and great Fiction.
Here is a video on his 90th birthday. Still the visionary.
Sir Arthur Clarke, thanks for broadening my horizons.
