The 507 Effect -10/28/08- McCain or Obama?

Only 7 days left until the election and everyone is gearing up for the big push.  Everyone except for me of course.  Call me cynical but I have decided not to vote this election.  In fact, I haven’t voted since the 2004 Presidential Election.  I voted for Kerry of course.  The war in Iraq had just begun to flounder and I honestly believed that we could elect George Bush out of the White House.  I tried my hardest to forget the 2000 Presidential Election Fiasco that ended in the most important election in the land being stolen by Bush’s Cronies.  I genuinely believed that we could agree as a nation that George Bush was an ill prepared imbecile and that his policies were paradigm shifting in a really bad way, and that we could cast votes as a mature democracy and show the rest of the world what we do to imbecile leaders in America.  But lo and behold I was wrong.  And George Bush (Skull) beat John Kerry (Bones).
John Kerry promptly disappeared into post election obscurity.  Can anyone out there that isn’t on Kerry’s staff tell me 1 single Bush defying thing he has done since 2004.  Nothing worth mentioning.  Meanwhile Bush & the Boys have invaded 2 countries, shredded the constitution, scaled down civil rights, bankrupt the economy, screwed the earths ecology, ruined our standing in the world community, and endangered future generations.  This is beyond argument or disagreement.  This is truly unethical and unacceptable.  But we let them get away with it.  We let it slide.
And now we find ourselves on the brink of a truly historic election.  In one corner, the first “black” man in history is nominated by his party for President.  He is fresh, worldly.  He is non baby boomer.  He represents “change”.  In the other corner, the oldest man to ever run for the office.  “White” to the core of course.  Beholden to big interest, owned by lobbyist, and downright creepy.  So of course the young people are gonna vote for Obama.  I mean let’s face it, Bush has fucked up the country!  Up, down, left, right, we have even been fucked sideways.  He even fucked our grandchildren, and they aren’t even born yet!  No one that is my age and is half aware wants America to continue down the current path she is on.  The end of overtime, slipping standards of living, constant “security” state, lowered standing worldwide, failing dollar, dishonest politicians, widening gap between rich and poor, crashing ecosystems, things are looking rough.  And having Socialism (the recent nationalization of wall st.) & Fascism (Corporate owned government) creep into our political system in an atmosphere of “Fear & Terror” and you have the ingredients for a police state.  We can already see clearly how 9-11 has lead to a decrease in civil rights that have in no way made the world safer from terrorism.
So this election really is historic.  Both candidates are running on platforms of “Change”.  If I may gentleman, the Multi-verse in in a constant state of flux, and change is always constant.  But that being said, what kind of change do these men mean.  John McCain’s “Change” can best be described as non change.  Things will still change of course because that is the way of Creation, but they will continue down the path of the Bush Administration.  There will be scandals and cronies.  Nothing new.  Our country will go to the shitter the same way Russia did after the end of the Cold War.  Our security infrastructure will crumble appropriately, there will be a small scale nuclear accident or attack, and we will go into a long. bleak, police state future.  But what will happen if Obama is elected?  Well, our current economic woes can tell us the answer to that.  It was the final turd of the Bush White House, the collapse of the US Economy.  If Obama is elected, then the “Change” that he ran on will be thwarted.  There will be such a recession that any good he might genuinely hope to accomplish will be promptly killed.
And the most deafening silence in the room is the lack of discussion on technology.  We mention the economy and jobs, but no high tech, as if the future of these things did not depend upon us leading the world in tech.  We mention global warming but no high tech, as if in the next 30 – 50 years there would be no new options for dealing with carbon problems.  We mention the military but no high tech, as if our preeminence in the world wasn’t directly tied to our Superior “Smart” weapons.  And most of all we don’t hear any talk about a singularity.  The Singularity is the point in the next 50 years or so at which the exponential growth of information based technology will surpass our ability to deal with it.  Most people in the general public don’t know or understand “The Singularity”.  And most of those who do understand dismiss it as fantasy.  But like it or not technology is going to change our world in fundamental ways in the next 50 years.  And the leaders who are in control now will have a great hand in deciding the direction of this explosion.  That is one of the reasons that the Bush Years have been so bad.  because they amplify exponentially into the future, causing great harm.  But who will be in control of a post singularity world?  Will it be McCain’s backers?  Will it be Obama’s backers?
So “how, with all this at stake, could I choose to not vote?” you might ask.  Because I have learned that the system is rigged.  It was set up generations ago by families with wealth beyond our imagination.  They stole everything from the rest of us and enslaved us, setting up a system of greed and war instead of love and abundance and the Kingship of this planet which was our birthright.  And neither Obama nor McCain has any interest in truly freeing the prisoners, neither one of those men really care about the sick and homeless.  The senseless war on drugs will continue, and so will the evil war on terror.  Both men sit snugly next to each other in some-one’s hand, cards to be played at the appropriate moment.  Both men dangle in unison from Marionette’s strings, dancing to the bidding of their Puppeteer.

As many prominent experts have noted, Obama is a member of Generation Jones–born 1954-1965, between the Boomers and GenXers.

Here’s a recent 5 minute GenJones video features many top pundits (including David Brooks, Clarence Page, Dick Morris, Juan Williams, Karen Tumulty, Howard Wolfson, Michael Barone, etc.) specifically talking about Obama (and Palin’s) membership in Generation Jones, as well as the surprisingly big role that GenJones is now playing in this election:

And here is a clip from a couple of days ago from a discussion about Generation Jones on MSNBC:
